David Josua Jimenez Silva was born on January 8, 1986, in Arguineguin, Spain. He was born to Fernando Jimenez and Eva Silva. David Silva was born to a middle-class family. His father was a former city police officer before finally serving as the security guard of the Valencia club stadium.
His father was a former professional footballer who plays for local club Santa Agueda. While working at the Valencia club, David Silva asked his father to stop so he could have a lot of time with him. After deciding to stop, his father later became a figure in his hometown who had sports facilities such as a football field and a swimming pool.
While his mother, Eva Silva, was a Japanese descent. She spent time as a housewife and accompanied his children’s activities.
Silva himself has brothers named Nando Jimenez and Natalia Jimenez.
Besides his two parents and brothers, Silva also has a figure that he loved very much. Namely his grandparents. Silva admitted that her grandparents played an important role in his life. He said that his two loved ones always showed great affection and support.
David Silva grew up in the village of Arguineguin. Since childhood, Silva’s love for football has been very shown. He often used potatoes to oranges as a ball to play. This fact was revealed by his grandmother.
After knowing his hobbies, both of Silva’s parents then bought a ball for their child who was three years old. Silva began to like playing football and showed his ability to play with the ball. Not wanting to waste the talent of the child, his parents entered Silva, who was then still eight years old, to the UD San Fernando academy located in Maspalomas, Spain.
When entering his first academy, Silva played as a goalkeeper before finally moving to the wing position. After spending several years with UD San Fernando, Silva then moved to the Valencia academy. He played for the Valencia youth team and made it to the Spanish national team U17.
Together with the Spanish national team U17, Silva scored a hat-trick in 2003 at the U17 World Cup in Finland. In the 2004/05 season, he made his La Liga debut with Eibar because he was on contract with Valencia at that time.
After being loaned to Celta Vigo, Silva returned to Valencia in 2006 and on November 5, 2006, Silva scored his first goal for the Bat-team. After that, Silva then entered the senior squad on November 15 of the same year.
Two years later, he was selected in the Spanish squad which competed in the 2008 European Cup. Because his talent was considered slick, Silva later became the target of several European giants. But in the same year, he extended his contract with Valencia for the next five years.
Continuing his career with Valencia, David Silva won the 2008 Coppa Del Rey trophy. It became his first domestic trophy and became the seventh in the history of the Valencia club.
During the 2009/10 season, his career was increasing. He managed to contribute eight goals for Valencia in the La Liga competition.
Following his brilliant performance, Manchester City sent an attractive offer for this Valencia player. Thus, right on July 14, 2010, Silva officially joined The Citizen for the next four years.
David Silva‘s Premier League debut with City took place on August 14, 2010. At that time, City faced Tottenham Hotspurs at White Hart Lane. Until right on September 16 of the same year, Silva scored his first goal for Manchester City. Then, he created his first goal in the Premier League on October 17 against Blackpool.
