The football league competitors in several European countries are certainly different. There might be either the dominant competitors or the competitive one.
For example in the 2018/19 season, the English league gave rise to two clubs that competed very tightly until the last match. Man City, in the end, came out as champions with only one point difference from Liverpool.
The English Premier League is much more competitive than other European Leagues. Last season, Bayern Munich had to fight harder than previous seasons, but in the end, FC Bayern was able to secure the seventh Bundesliga title in a row.
While in Italy, Juventus won their eighth Serie A trophy in a row at the end of last season.
Two of England’s closest neighbors, Wales and Scotland, also presented prolonged dominance in their competition. Last season, the New Saints grabbed the Wales league trophy for the eighth time in a row.
Glasgow Celtic also did the same thing. Not satisfied with the eighth Scottish league title, Celtic added the title by winning two domestic trophies. For that achievement, Celtic won domestic trebles in a row for three seasons.
It is very impressive to see the achievements of these clubs, but they have nothing compared to what BATE Borisov has done in Belarus.
A club that is not very popular in Europe, but it has proven to become the king in its own country.
On July 13, 2018, in a home match, BATE defeated Torpedo-Belaz Zhodino 4-1, while Dinamo Brest lost 2-1 at home against Dynamo Minsk, which made BATE rise to the top of the table.
Under normal circumstances, a one-point advantage in the middle of the season will not be too significant, even when it was held by the best team. BATE Borisov, however, is not only the best team in Belarus, but it is the strongest and most cruel club.
In December 2018, Bate Borisov finished the competition by nine points above Shakhtyor Soligorsk to win the 15th Belarussian league title.
Interestingly, among the 15 titles that have been achieved, 13 of them have been held in a row since 2006. In the same time, the English Premier League, Serie A and La Liga have their each three different winners, while four different clubs have won the Bundesliga.
The league title for 13 years in a row is the longest series at this time in European football. Coupled with the two titles that Bate Borisov won in 1999 and 2002, making them the most successful club in Belarus.
It also meant that the club had won the title in more than half of the Belarusian league journey itself. Or, in other words, Bate Borisov has won the title in 71.4 percent of its season competing in the Belarusian Premier League. Please note that the Belarusian League began in 1992.
BATE Borisov was originally founded in 1973. During its history, BATE Borisov has won three championships in the Belarusian Soviet era in 1974, 1976 and 1979, but in 1984, the club was disbanded.
However, 12 years later or more precisely in 1996, BATE Borisov was re-established, and since then the club has turned into the most prominent club in Belarus.
In 1998, Bate Borisov appeared as Belarusian league runner-up and a year later they won their first trophy. This club which based in the Borisov Arena, added a league title in 2002.
In Belarusian football, Bate Borisov has a tough competitor from Dinamo Minks, the club which has been established since 1927 and has made 7 Belarusian league titles.
In the 2008/09 season, BATE Borisov appeared in the European Champions League group stage for the first time in history. As a debutant club, its performances were arguably quite impressive against Real Madrid, Juventus and Zenit Saint Petersburg.
Throughout its participation in the Champions League, BATE has not been able to get away from the group stage, but their performance is quite troublesome to the opponents. Especially BATE beat Bayern Munich 3-1 in 2012 and AS Roma 3-2 in the 2015/16 season.
Meanwhile, some famous players who have strengthened BATE Borisov included Alexander Hleb, Vitali Kutuzov, and Yuri Zhevnov. The three of them were the mainstay in the Belarusian national team.
