Angel Di Maria, is one of the best talents in Argentina. This 180 cm player has an excellent kick speed and accuracy to help the tango team winning various matches.

For several times defending the world’s top clubs, Maria often becomes coaches’ main choice to build the attacks. His swift playing style often makes the opponent’s players in a hassle.

But behind his fame now, Angel di Maria has experienced many difficult times in his life. He had to intervene with hard jobs in order to help his family’s economy.

Angel Fabian Di Maria, born on February 14, 1988, in Rosario, Argentina. Since his childhood, Maria has become an active child. He likes to exercise and football is his favorite game.

His father who had a career as a professional footballer had to bury his dream deeply due to his severe knee injury. In the end, his father had to work as a coal miner with very little salary.

His mother who does not have a permanent job cannot be a big help for the family’s needs. His father who had worked for 16 years as a coal miner also got confused as his salary could not really be able to support his family.

Seeing his parents in distress, Di Maria decided to help his father’s work. Still not giving up on his football, the days of Di Maria were full of working as a coal miner along with his father.

His mother also shared the difficult times which Angel di Maria had experienced,

“Di Maria likes to help his father working at coal mining. My husband would ask him to fill a bag with a shovel. Angel Di Maria would come home with coal covering his head to feet,” said his mother, Diana Hernandez, to the US.

His mother also claimed that this 30-year-old player was a shy person. However, it did not necessarily make him unfriendly to anyone.

“I have all of his shirts and made a museum about him. When I feel that he is tired, I will say ‘Son, eat a banana and you will be strong’ then he laughs,” recalled his mother.

Di Maria also considers her mother as an extraordinary figure. Some of the income he earned from mining coal was also set aside to buy his football shoes,

“That was a moment that I would never forget. Having football shoes from my own hard work is something to be happy about,”

“At that time I was a kid helping to deliver coal. It was a really hard job. “

After showing his extraordinary game, the Rosario Central talent guide was attracted to Di Maria. In the 2006/2007 season, Di Maria began to play regularly for Rosario. He had done a total of 25 appearances during that season. His slick performance on the field made the Argentina U-20 national team called him to compete in the 2007 U-20 World Cup.

At the U-20 World Cup held in Canada, Maria had successfully scored three goals during the tournament while bringing the Tango team to win the award. His extraordinary talent delivered Maria to a European football squad. He joined Benfica before finally getting contracted by Real Madrid.

In Spain, Maria successfully won La Liga titles which were the Spanish Super Cup and the Copa del Rey. In the 2013/14 season, he even brought el Real to win the European Champions League.

Until now, Maria was listed as one of the best Paris Saint Germain players.

After his brilliant journey, Maria became one of the Argentina national team coach’s main choices in the World Cup grand event. Finally, he appeared with the Tango team in the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Though he used to work as a coal miner, Di Maria was eventually able to realize the dream of his family to perform at the World Cup.
