Marcus Rashford was born on October 31, 1997, at Wythenshawe, Manchester, England. He was born to Robert Rashford and Melanie Rashford. Marcus Rashford has three brothers and one sister. Because of having a problem with his father, Rashford was only raised by his mother.
His mother is a very religious person. She becomes a protective parent so that Rashford can avoid things that might endanger him. According to some sources, although his father had a problem with his family, Rashford continued to make his father an agent.
Since he was a child, Rashford had been showing his love for football. At the age of just two years, Rashford had played football. He played with his brother in the park, at home, even wherever there was a chance. His mother often yells at him for playing football too often.
Since he was at the age of five, Rashford joined Fletcher Moss Rangers. There, Rashford became the center of attention after showing his extraordinary skills. When he was seven years old, he was loved by a Manchester United talent guide.
While he was growing up, Rashford had already faced several problems. Among them was when he was not quick enough in developing his potential. His legs were considered too long and lost some important movements.
Although he felt frustrated, Rashford continued to practice hard and tried to do extra time practicing. Slow but sure, he began to find his comfortable performance. Rashford had found his weaknesses and his game was getting a little bit better.
In 2015, Rashford entered United’s first team in the match against Watford. Although only sitting on the bench, he was happy to be part of the senior team. And right in February 2016, Rashford got the opportunity to join the red devil squad who competed in the European League event.
His debut with MU began when facing Midtjylland. He managed to score two goals in Manchester United’s 5-1 win.
Rashford admitted that his game was greatly affected by Cristiano Ronaldo. He got many lessons from the figure of CR7. Rashford really admires Ronaldo who has excellent speed, skill, and scoring ability.
His goal against Midtjylland became his own important record. He became United’s youngest player to score in European competition. This achievement the previous record created by the legend of the red devil, George Best.
He made his debut in the Premier League when facing Arsenal. Rashford scored twice and became United’s youngest player after Federico Macheda and Danny Welbeck. In the same match, Rashford also managed to provide an assist that helped United won the match with a score of 3-2.
On March 20, 2016, Rashford made his debut when Derby competed against Manchester City and scored one goal in that match. He became the youngest goalscorer in the history of the Manchester derby. At that time, he was only 18 years old.
In April 2016, Rashford had scored United’s winning goal in the FA Cup against West Ham. He brought Manchester United to win in 2-1, advancing the final round against Crystal Palace. Manchester United won their 12th FA trophy after successfully overthrowing Palace with a score of 2-1.
Before Rashford extended his contract with Manchester United, he ended the season by scoring 8 goals in 18 appearances.
After appearing nicely with United, Rashford entered the England national team competing in the 2016 European Cup. At that time, Rashford managed to break Wayne Rooney’s record as the youngest England player to appear in the European Cup. He did it at the age of 18 as a substitute player for Adam Lallana in the match against Wales.
In the following season, Rashford continued to play nicely with MU. He scored the first goal against Hull City on August 27, 2016, and was followed by the next three goals against Watford, Northampton Town, and Leicester City.
On February 26, 2017, Rashford scored as a substitute player against Southampton in the EFL Cup Final. The next four days, Rashford scored a crucial goal against the Anderlecht in the European League competition. Thanks to his goal, the red devil squad managed to advance to the next round.
In the competition, MU came out as the champion after overthrowing the Ajax Amsterdam. Rashford ended the season with 53 appearances which were the most appearances that MU players have ever had.
In the European Super game against Real Madrid, Rashford was unable to do much. MU lost with a score of 2-1.
In the 2017/18 season, Rashford debuted in the European Champions League. In that season, he managed to record 16 matches, 7 goals, and 5 assists.
Because his talent continued to grow, Rashford went to the Three Lions squad which had appeared at the 2018 World Cup.
Until now, the 21-year-old player is still a mainstay of Manchester United’s attacker.
