Anthony Joran Martial was born on December 5, 1995, in Massy, Essonne, France. Martial was born to Joran Martial and Audrey Martial. He has two brothers named Johan and Dorian. His two brothers are professional footballers.
Martial families are immigrants from Guadeloupe. His family moved to France to live a decent life. After settling down and having children, both parents saw that football became something promising there.
Little Martial was a shy and quiet person. He preferred to spend time watching TV at home.
Please note that his family and Thierry Henry’s family had close relations because they were from the same area, namely Guadeloupe. Thanks to that closeness, Martial began to like football and idolized Thierry Henry.
Thanks to the support of the family, right in 2001, Martial joined the academy of CO Les Ulis, the academy which was also Thierry Henry’s study place.
Martial was considered an extraordinary talent thanks to his ability to play the ball. His reputation soared when appearing neatly in domestic competition. After more than eight years studying there, Martial was in demand by the Lyon club.
Until in 2009 when he was 14 years old, he joined the Lyon academy. Thanks to his brilliant performance at the young Lyon youth team, Martial entered the U17 French national team. He was included in the names who flew to Slovenia to take part in the U17 European Cup.
After being judged capable of competing in the senior team, Martial made his debut with Lyon on December 6, 2012. At that time, Lyon faced Hapoel Ironi Kiryat Shmona in the European League event. While in the French league, he debuted on February 3, 2013. He entered as a substitute player on 79th minutes.
Getting judged to have extraordinary talent, Martial entered on AS Monaco’s radar. At a cost of around 5 million euros, this 181 cm player officially joined Monaco on June 30, 2013. Martial signed a contract for three years and debuted on November 24, 2013.

Anthony Martial played brilliantly while defending Monaco. In his second season, he scored 9 goals in 36 matches in the French Ligue one. He scored his first goal in Champions League competition on 4 August 2015 against BSC Young Boys. At that time, Monaco managed to win with a score of 4-0.
In the same year, Martial also made his debut with the French national team when facing Portugal in a friendly match.

Right on September 1, 2015, he signed a contract with United for the next four years. At a cost of 36 million euros, this Frenchman officially landed at Old Trafford.
When he was brought by United, Martial became the most expensive young player in the world. His transfer was a success that shocked several French media before Kylian Mbappe emerged as a new star.
With United, Martial scored his goal at Old Trafford on 12 September 2015 when Manchester United won 3-1 against Liverpool. He even won the 2015 Golden Boy Award. Playing brilliantly with Manchester United, Martial made it into the French national team which competed in the 2016 European Cup.
