Robson de Souza, or familiarly called Robinho, was born on January 25, 1984, in Sao Vicente, Sao Paulo, Brazil. He was born to Marina da Silva Souza and Gilvan de Souza. Robinho was born to a poor family. The environment he lived in was also classified as an area where most of his residents had low income.

Robinho’s father worked as a salesman. While his mother was a worker in a catering business. Robinho is very close to his parents. His father and mother continues to support and always gives advice.

Little Robinho has shown an interest in football. Among all his friends, Robinho was the most superior boy. When he was playing in a futsal team, Robinho was able to score 73 goals in one season.

Although his posture was small, Robinho did not hesitate to run and outwit his opponent. The way he made a final settlement as a child was also fairly special. When he was 15 years old, Robinho caught the attention of football legend, Pele. Since they first met, Pele was impressed by Robinho’s talent and continued to guide this little boy to develop.

Until right at the age of 18, Robinho officially signed a contract with Santos thanks to Pele’s help.

Starting his first debut, 18-year-old Robinho played in Brazil’s famous competition, the Campeonato Brasileiro. He continued to play brilliantly and managed to bring his team ranked first.

Since then, Robinho has continued to be in the spotlight. He successfully broke the opponent’s goal 47 times in 108 appearances. His extraordinary talent was also spreading to the Spanish giant, Real Madrid.

In 2005, Robinho was officially introduced to the Madrid public.

In his first season with El Real, Robinho scored 14 goals in 37 matches. With his contribution, Robinho successfully presented the La Liga title to Los Galacticos. This title also became his third title throughout his career.

In the 2007/18 season, Robinho ended with a score of 11 goals and 8 assists in the league, as well as an additional 4 goals in European Champions League competition. However, his career did not go smoothly after he suffered from an injury. Robinho had to rest for quite a long time.

After returning to play, Robinho was unable to show his best game. When he got an offer for a contract extension, he actually refused because at that time Madrid was issued to bring in a Portuguese megastar, Cristiano Ronaldo.

After deciding not to accept the offer, Robinho flew to England to join Manchester City. In 2008, this tiny player officially set foot in the city of Manchester and signed a contract for the next four years.

Robinho made his first debut against Chelsea in September 2008. He managed to contribute one goal and bring City to win with a score of 3-1. On October 26, 2008, Robinho scored his first hat-trick in the Premier League when City managed to crush Stoke’s resistance.

He ended that season with the title as the top scorer of Manchester City with a score of 14 goals.

In his second season, Robinho failed to play nicely after returning from an injury. Even so, he had featured in 12 matches with Manchester City.

In 2009, Robinho married a beautiful woman named Vivian Guglielminetti. From their marriage, Robinho was blessed with two children named Robson Jr and Gianluca.

Due to his never-healed injury, Robinho began to lose a place at Manchester City. When he returned to play, his appearance tends to be inconsistent. Because of this, Robinho returned to Santos on loan for six months.

After the loan period was over, Robinho wanted to stay at Santos. However, Manchester City refused and forced him to return to England. Because he was already playing with the Manchester team, Robinho refused to extend the contract.

Despite having participated in The Citizen’s pre-season match, Robinho said if he wanted to move to another club.

Knowing the situation of the player, the Italian giant, AC Milan, was moving fast. They bid and right on August 31, 2010, Robinho signed a four-year contract with il Rossoneri. His debut with the red and black team had reaped a defeat. However, he successfully scored and led Milan to win against Chievo with a score of 3-1.

Together with Milan, Robinho’s appearance was quite brilliant. He even had time to contribute the Serie A trophy and Supercopa Cup.

After returning from an injury for the umpteenth time, Robinho ended his contract with AC Milan and decided to return to Santos.

His adventure after leaving Milan tended to be irregular. Robinho seemed to lose direction and had changed clubs several times.

Moreover, he was sentenced to prison after being involved in the rape of a 22-year-old Albanian girl. After negotiations, Robinho was reportedly free from the case.

Now, Robinho becomes a Basaksehir player after being transferred from Sivasspor.
