The reason was stated by Icardi when he dared to come to the stands of Curva Nord in 1969 as Inter were defeated by Sassuolo, in February 2015. Along with Fredy Guarin, Icardi was invited to speak to some of the 1969 Curva Nord frontmen and give his T-shirt to a small child. However, the shirt given by Icardi to the little boy was taken by a Curva Nord 1969 and threw back to Icardi.
Icardi responded to the man, “Damn it! Why are you still arrogant in front of children? You think you are better than me?”
In the autobiography, Icardi also explained that he was ready to face Curva Nord one on one. “How many are they? 50? 100? 200? Well. I am not afraid. I will bring 100 criminals from Argentina who will kill them wherever they hide. Keep this in mind!”
